Royal Academy of Dance Curriculum offered at Rennae’s School of Dance.
Dear Parents and Students,
One new program we are excited to offer is the R.A.D. (Royal Academy of Dance) ballet curriculum. For those who are unfamiliar, R.A.D. is an international curriculum whereby children of all ages learn true and set syllabus work as well as freestyle work based on levels. Students may choose to participate in formal exams which are officiated by an examiner who is flown in from London, China, or South Africa. The RAD holds some of the highest standards in the world; it is the ballet method most accomplished professional dancers have been trained in. The curriculum is fun and dynamic, but technically demanding at the same time. Making it a very exciting and well loved program not only because students make accelerated progress in their ballet study but also because they will usually see a difference in all other areas of dance as well. Not to mention they’ll have a blast doing it!
RAD certified teachers undergo stringent training and testing themselves requiring years of study and exams in music theory, anatomy, kinesiology, psychology as well as beginner through pre-professional ballet technique. If you would like to read further you can go to www.rad.org.uk
It is never too late for a dance student to become a little more serious with their study in the artistry of ballet. Ballet students will receive continuing information on this program as the year progresses.
See you in class!
